Start from application fit
The best sourcing question is not only price. Buyers should first clarify whether the material is for Al-Sc alloy, SOFC/SOEC, scandia-stabilized zirconia, sputtering targets, thin-film materials, high-purity chemicals, research material distribution, or advanced ceramics.
- 3N path: alloy, master alloy, metallurgy, and aluminum additive programs.
- 4N path: SOFC/SOEC, thin-film, sputtering, high-purity chemicals, and ceramics.
- Distributor path: request both grade positioning and customer application fit.
Documents and sample evaluation
Reference analysis reports can support early review, while commercial documents, shipment documents, and certificates should be discussed separately. Sample and quote discussions should stay under manual review.
- Request the relevant reference analysis report.
- Share any custom specification sheet or testing request.
- Provide destination, quantity, timeframe, and end-use context.
